Let’s face it, when it comes to collecting Scooby-Doo on DVD, it is quite confusing. While many seasons have been released as one complete set, many episodes have been spread across various releases over the years, and there still several episodes that have not been released. For us collectors, it is irritating to figure out which episodes are on which release and which episode belongs where. That is why I decided to make this list. It is my hope that this will serve as a guide for those wanting to have as complete a collection as possible. You can follow the links above to see a complete list of DVDs and to see which episodes have not made it to DVD. I will try and keep this post as updated as possible.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!
If you just want the original run of episodes, all 25 episodes of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! are on DVD as part of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! The Complete First & Second Seasons. But the set you’ll want to get is Scooby-Doo! Where Are You! The Complete Series, which includes the “third” season of Scooby-Doo! Where Are You!{more on this later}. The set also includes a exclusive bonus disc which includes a couple of featurettes. The original run of The Complete Series with the limited edition Mystery Machine packaging is out of print and is going for hundreds of dollars on Ebay and Amazon. But you can get the reissue with cheaper packaging for around $50 or less.

The New Scooby-Doo Movies
Warner Bros has released 15 episodes of The New Scooby-Doo Movies on DVD as Best of The New Scooby-Doo Movies. The reason this series does not have a complete set, unfortunately, is due to WB not being able to negotiate royalty agreements with some of the series’ guest stars. The Addams Family. Phyllis Diller, Sandy Duncan, Sonny & Cher, Davy Jones, Jerry Reed, Josie and the Pussycats, Jeannie, and Tim Conway episodes have all been omitted from this release. The opening titles have also been edited to remove certain shots of some of the guest stars.

The Scooby-Doo Show
The Scooby-Doo Show is mostly complete on DVD. The first season is available as The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour: The Complete Series. Note that while the Scooby and Dynomutt episodes originally aired as one hour long episode, The DVD includes the syndicated versions, with their own opening and closing credits.

Season 2 is a little more difficult to track down. Only 3 of the 8 season 2 episodes have been released, all spread across different releases. 13 Spooky Tales from Around the World includes The Ozark Witch Switch and Hang in There, Scooby-Doo on 13 Spooky Tales: Run for Your Rife. Vampire Bats and Scaredy Cats was originally released on Scooby-Doo’s Spookiest Tales, but is also included on the recently released Scooby-Doo and the Vampires.

The Curse of Viking Lake, The Chiller Diller Movie Thriller, The Spooky Case of the Grand Prix Race, Creepy Cruise, and The Creepy Heap from the Deep have not seen a DVD release as of March 2014.

50 Cartoon Collection Scooby Doo

Season 3 was released under Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! The Complete Third Season. Six of these episodes originally aired under the Where Are You! Name, but the DVD contains the syndicated Scooby-Doo Show opening and closing credits. Do what I suggested above and buy The Complete Series set, that way you avoid having to buy two different releases.

Scooby’s All Star Laff-A-Lympics
The first season of Laff-A-Lympics is available as three separate releases. Volumes 1&2 contain the first eight episodes, while Spooky Games includes the rest of Season 1 along with a brand new special{Spooky Games also includes a couple repeat episodes from the previous releases}. As of March 2014, there has been no word of a Season 2 release.

Scooby and Scrappy-Doo
This is where things start getting confusing. Scrappy-Doo releases have frankly been all over the place. Outside of Scrappy-Doo Season 1, The Richie Rich/Scooby Show and 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, there has been no definitive season release for the Scrappy-Doo era. All sixteen season one episodes of Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo, however, will be released on April 28th, 2015, which will hopefully lead to more season sets.

Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo{Shorts}
A good chunk of the first season of Scrappy-Doo shorts were included on The Richie Rich/Scooby Doo Show: Volume 1 release. Moonlight Madness is included on 13 Spooky Tales Around the World. The following episodes were also included on 13 Spooky Tales: Love of Snack.

Scooby’s Swiss Miss/ET TU, Scoob?/Soggy Bog, Scooby
South Seas Scare/Scooby Gumbo/Alaskin King Coward{Season 1}
Hothouse Scooby/Scooby-Doo 2000/Punk Rock Scooby{Season 2}

Hothouse Scooby/Scooby-Doo 2000/Punk Rock Scooby is the only season two episode available on DVD.

The Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Puppy Hour
For the following releases, WB decided to take segments from various episodes and include them as their own separate episodes. So none of these are really complete.

What’s New Scooby-Doo
While there is no complete series set of What’s New Scooby-Doo, you can get all three seasons individually. The three holiday themed episodes have been included as bonus episodes on each of the season sets. Note: While the show was animated at 16×9 widescreen, the DVD releases as well as the original TV airings were cropped to 4×3}.

Shaggy & Scooby-Doo! Get A Clue
Sadly, Get A Clue did not get any more releases past the second volume. So only the first eight episodes have made it to DVD. The Many Faces of Evil{13 Spooky Tales: Love of Snack| and Crusin’ For A Brusin'{13 Spooky Tales: Surf’s Up Scooby-Doo!} are the only two Season 2 episodes on DVD.. Currently, WB has no plans to continue releasing Get A Clue on DVD.
