There are four available swords of strength in A Link Between Worlds. As A Link Between Worlds is in the style of A Link to the Past, most of the swords in this game are the same as those in A Link to the Past albeit with different names. The swords in succession of power are the Forgotten Sword, the Master Sword, the Master Sword Lv2, and the Master Sword Lv3.
Forgotten Sword
- Main article: Forgotten Sword
The Forgotten Sword is the first blade that Link receives and is the weakest of the swords. It deals half a heart of damage. Link can use it after he is tasked with finding the Captain and returning the sword to him.
Master Sword
- Main article: Master Sword
The Master Sword is the second most powerful sword in the game. In order for Link to obtain it, he must collect the three Pendants of Virtue, (Pendant of Courage, Pendant of Wisdom, and Pendant of Power) much like in A Link to the Past. The Master Sword is the base sword from which it can be upgraded to the Lv2 and Lv3 Swords.
Master Sword Lv2

The Master Sword Lv2 is the second upgrade to the Master Sword. It bears a striking resemblance to the Tempered Sword from A Link to the Past. It is obtained by taking two pieces of Master Ore to Hyrule's Blacksmith. The attack damage for it is three times more than the Forgotten Sword, which is less compared to the power increase of the Tempered Sword from A Link to the Past. It compensates for this however, by increasing its Sword Beam attack by 1.5 times, whereas in A Link to the Past the sword's beam power is kept the same.
Master Sword Lv3
- Main article: Master Sword Lv3
The Master Sword Lv3 is the third and last upgrade to the Master Sword. It bears a striking resemblance to the Golden Sword from A Link to the Past. This upgrade is received in a similar fashion to the Master Sword Lv2, except it is tempered by Lorule's Blacksmith after bringing two more Master Ore.
